Rosťa Čapek´s Benefit concert

2010 marked the 25th  year since I made my first five-string banjo.
Because of this anniversary, I decided to organize a benefit concert.
This concert was a special event. Musicians of different genres who play my instruments met on a single stage (jazz,  Dixieland, Irish music, bluegrass, country, acoustic music, world music).
Famed Czech celebrities Marek Eben and Ondřej Havelka hosted the evening and also participated as musicians.
Jiří Suchý, Marek Eben, Ondřej Havelka & His Melody Makers, Ivan Mádek & Banjo Band, Radim Zenkl (mandolin – USA),  Pavlína Jíšová, Marko Čermák, graduates of the Jan Deyl Conservatory and many other artists performed this evening.
We had the special opportunity to congratulate Marko Čermák´s (member of the IBMA Hall of Fame) on his 70th birthday.
This exceptional concert was held in the Palace Lucerna concert hall on April 18th, 2010.
The profits from this concert were donated to the Jan Deyl Conservatory and the Secondary school for Visually Impaired, which celebrated  its 100th anniversary in 2011, thanks in part to the benefit concert.
The work of the Jan Deyl Conservatory and the Secondary school for Visually Impaired is following up  the previous work of the Deyl institute, founded in 1910 by famous ophthalmologist and scientist Dr. Jan Deyl. This institute was established as a philanthropic facility aimed to provide education to young blind people. Care for the visually impaired has remained its main purpose and mission.
